Designed to sit on top of your post, the Jardin Post Cap finishes the post with a decorative cap. It is secured with an included lag bolt that screws down through the cap into the top of the post — so the size you order is the actual base size of the cap.
Choosing your size
In the US, a post's name and its actual measurement are often different, so measure before you order:
- Measure flat across one face of the post — not corner to corner.
- Measure near the top of the post, where it hasn't swollen from ground moisture.
- Order the size that matches your measured dimension.
Keep in mind that a wood 4x4 is usually planed down to a true 3-1/2", and a wood 6x6 is really 5-1/2", while vinyl, composite and rough-sawn posts are typically true to name. If in doubt, measure — it's the only way to be sure.
